DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that Mark Pollock will be coming to the Stanley Quek Theatre on January 30th to speak to Biosoc and DU Clinical Therapies.\n\nAthlete\, adventurer\, world renowned motivational speaker\, and Trinity alumnus\, Mark will be joining us to share his story of triumph\, tragedy\, and tenacity\, and to encourage and inspire our members to not be constrained by the current limits of the possible and to push the boundaries of medical science.\n\nMark lost the sight in his right eye at the age of 5\, and suffered a retinal detachment in his left eye at the age of 22 which rendered him completely blind. He has since run 6 marathons in one week across the Gobi Desert in China\, become the first blind man to complete the North Pole Marathon in the Arctic\, and become the first blind man to race to the South Pole.\n\nIn 2010 Mark was involved in an accident which rendered him paralysed. He has embraced this injury as a new challenge\, and thrown himself into exploring the frontiers of spinal cord injury recovery through aggressive physical therapy and robotic technology.\n\nClick attending to stay up to date with developments on this event.
